Training

I have been training for my first full marathon, the Salt Lake City marathon which is in April and I must say that it is fun and I feel really good but I have some side effects... One of my toenails has a blister under the entire thing, it is purple and it looks like it is going to fall off. It is not so much fun to run when your toenail feels like it is being pulled off for 14 miles. But I am happy to say that I think my toenail died or something because now I can't feel it at all! I don't know if I will be saying that I am happy when it falls off because I know that is going to look really cute. Another side effect (also on my feet), I have like 5 other blisters that have turned to calluses. I used to think that I had cute feet and I had cute toes. Not anymore! But it has been really fun to work up to this point and I just hope that I don't lose anymore toenails.

You are my hero! I'm so proud of you for running a marathon (I could NEVER do that, nor do I want to, he he) and if you ever need a good podiatrist down the road, Brian will be done with school in a year. :) We need to run a Ragnar relay together...I think I can do 8 miles. You'd better come and visit us when you're down here. Alli will be home by then!

I'm excited for your marathon coming up! I ran the St. George marathon a couple years ago and experienced the blisters, black toenails, the whole nine, and thought my feet were doomed, but after a little rest and not training so intense everything gets back to normal, even those nasty dead toenails ;) GOOD LUCK, and have FUN! (or as much fun as you can have running 26.2 miles :)
